First Timer’s Guide to Glamping Like a Boss
Have you heard of camping— that outdoor activity you do where you load a tent, sleeping bag, food, and water on your back and hike deep into the woods to experience nature completely untouched?
Well, I absolutely love it EXCEPT for the lugging the bare minimums on my back part and trekking into the unknown— hehe. I guess what I actually love is GLAMPING, also known as glamorous camping.
With glamping, I can get lost in the enchanted, awe-inspiring woods and disconnect from society without having to give up modern day conveniences. So can you!
Whether it’s your first time glamping or you want to brush up on your glamping skills, here’s everything you need to know on glamping like a boss.
Forget the tent and sleeping bag.
Have you ever traveled abroad and wanted to go both camping and city hopping but realized once you packed your stuff for the city, you didn’t have any space left for camping gear?
Well with glamping, you don’t need to forgo camping just because you don’t have space to pack a tent and sleeping bag. You don’t even need to pack a tent or sleeping bag at all.
You can simply go to a site like Glamping Hub, and find a unique property deep in the woods or high in the mountains with everything you’ll need from sheets to pillows.
This is super convenient because I can now drop a bit of nature in the beginning, middle, or end of my trip without making changes to how I pack like a boss.
Pack all the kimonos your heart desires.
Being one with nature used to mean wearing the same outfit for a couple of days and only bringing clean underwear, but with glamping, you don’t have to trade off your usual style to be part of nature.
If the radiant sunshine peeking through the towering trees inspires you to wear your flowing white skirt that billows in the wind, or if the flowers in the field are calling you to be one with them, throw on that floral kimono hiding away for disconnected moments.
Indulge yourself in nature and that whimsical wardrobe of yours like a boss.
Say hello to glamping in treehouses, yurts, and teepees.
Long gone are the days of pitching your tent or even making it to your camp site before sundown to have enough light to set up your tent. Now there’s more unique, fun, and plain cool options of glamping accommodations that you would’ve never been able to put up yourself in the small constraints of vacation days.
Could you imagine putting up a teepee, yurt, or even a treehouse in a couple of hours so you could have a few days of respite away from our crazy world? I probably couldn’t even do that if I had a year to build one, which is why I’m opting to stay at this treehouse in Portugal.
My plan is to go to Lisbon to eat its great food and get some color on the beach, then rent a car to Ponte Da Barca so I can stay in this luxurious tree house. It’s only $64 a night and has a whole glass facade facing the water so I’ll feel like I’m waking up right in the middle of a forest like a boss.
Bring your pet glamping too!
When you go on a family trip, you wouldn’t dare think about leaving your child or any other member of the family behind, right? Well, then why would you leave your pet behind?! He is just as much of the family as you are.
Now with Glamping Hub for Pets, you don’t need to leave your pet behind like a boss. There’s tons of pet-friendly accommodations that’ll make your entire family and zen with nature.
Be a foodie.
In a lot of these glamping accommodations, you won’t need to worry about a bear ripping into your cooler melting ice at an alarming rate. You’ll either have a kitchen to cook yourself or might have a restaurant on the grounds to make you a delicious meal.
If you have a kitchen, buy all the top-notch, local ingredients your glamping site can fit, and treat yourself to a fresh, home cooked meal like a boss.
At the very least, bring a ton of food so that when you get your late night munchies, you won’t miss the fact that you can’t call pizza delivery to the treehouse to the left of the river.
Pack tons of entertainment.
With extra time from not having to pitch a tent and wash your clothes by hand in the river, you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy yourself.
Bring a bluetooth speaker to wirelessly play your latest and greatest playlist, playing cards or board games, and even sports equipment. Some of these glamping sites have sports facilities you can use such as a tennis court or frisbee golf where you can show off your athletic skills like a boss.
Remember when you book a glamping site, you’re not just booking ordinary accommodation. You’ll be discovering a hidden corner of the world and revealing the pure beauty of nature that comes with experiencing a unique place.
