What to Order at Del Frisco’s Grille in Rockefeller Center
Finding a restaurant that can please a wide array of paletes and cook each dish to perfection isn’t an easy task, but Del Frisco’s Grille in Rockefeller Center knows exactly how to do it. With its trendy but casual atmosphere, this restaurant is a great choice if you’re visiting Rockefeller Center with your family, discussing business over food and drink, or even catching up with your girl friends at the bar with some cocktails. Check out what to order at Del Frisco’s Grille in Rockefeller Center!
Vodka Infused Pineapple Cocktail + Coconut Cream Pie
When I think of Del Frisco’s Grille, the first thing that pops into my head is their signature drink, the VIP (vodka infused pineapple). They take a fresh Hawaiian pineapple, let it soak in vodka for a few days, then juice that sweet goodness into a glass for you. It’s SO good that it’s dangerous. It doesn’t even taste like you’re drinking alcohol.
The next thing I think of is their coconut cream pie with huge shavings of white chocolate. The crust, made of ‘Nilla wafers (remember those from childhood?), creates a welcome texture in contrast to the creamy filling inside. Even if you’re not a fan of coconuts, you should try this. Del Frisco’s is great at adding just the right amount of the main ingredient to make the dish taste as it should. In this case, there is no fake coconut taste that so many other coconut desserts tend to have.
This dessert is about $12 but it’s big enough to split among six people if you’ve just eaten lunch or dinner. However, to get this pie in your dessert rotation more often, I’d definitely recommend coming here with a friend or two and sitting at the bar just to order the pie and the VIP; hence, why I mentioned it asap!
In case you’re wondering, that other beauty in the picture is the New York City exclusive dessert– a cheesecake with a crème brûlée topping. Between the two, I favored the coconut cream pie, but if you love cheesecake and crème brûlée, this is a winner too. So many choices!
Did I mention I got the lemon cake to go? Hehe… I also recommend that– so moist.
Philly Cheese Steak Egg Rolls
Alright, now we’ll start off with the usual progression of dinner with appetizers! Don’t miss out on the philly cheese steak egg rolls. Yes, that’s philly cheese steak stuffed in egg roll pastry deep fried to gooey goodness. Everything about this dish goes so well together from the amount of meat to the hint of spice in the chili sauce. Even when the egg rolls cool down, it stays crispy so each bite is as good as the last.
Heirloom Tomatoes with Burrata Mozzarella
“You had me at heirloom” would be my catch phrase when it comes to tomatoes so of course, I had to get the heirloom tomatoes with burrata mozzarella salad. The cheese is fresh and full of flavor, and the balsamic vinegar gives this appetizer a tad sweetness to balance out the earthy olive oil. It’s a good dish to get if you want to add some fresh veggies into your night.
Ahi Tuna Tacos
I usually scoff at ahi tuna tacos and think, “Tuna tacos. How good can they get?” But when Sherwin, the manager, noticed that my brother and I had gotten two appetizers but missed out on the tuna tacos, he brought them out to wow us, and wow! These completely changed my mind. Thanks Sherwin!
Del Frisco’s Grille knows what’s up with ahi tuna tacos. The tuna is sushi grade, and the guacamole was served cold, which gave it the dish an overall fresh, clean, and refreshing bite. The citrus mayo actually had a spicy kick, and the shell itself was so crispy! I will never scoff at ahi tuna tacos again.
Del Frisco’s Grille has a variety of dishes but seeing as they’re a steakhouse, I had to try the rib-eye. They don’t mess around with their steak. They serve it straight up, and even ask you to cut into it when served so you can tell them right then and there if it’s cooked the way you like it. If not, they’ll turn right around and try again, but in my case, they didn’t have to– medium rare, right on the dot.
Truffle Mac & Cheese + Shaved Brussel Sprouts
For the sides, we got the truffle macaroni and cheese and shaved brussels sprouts with bacon. Truffle is one of those ingredients you can easily use too much of, but of course, Del Frisco’s did it right. This mac and cheese on the sides menu is a must-try. It’s creamy yet surprisingly light like ‘I could eat all of this and probably still feel ok’ light.
The shaved brussels sprouts were also good but I normally make fresh shaved brussels sprouts salad at home so I couldn’t get out of my head that these weren’t like how I usually make them. Nonetheless, if you like baked greens and bacon, get this!
Friendly Service + Chill Music
So the food here is obviously great, and the dessert and cocktails alone are worth making a trip to this restaurant, but I have to mention the service. It is so on point from the moment you’re welcomed in to when you say goodbye for the night.
Also, the playlist is solid. The night I went they played a mix of music from the Red Hot Chili Peppers (my fave!) to the Strokes. They really know how to complete the dining experience.
Next time you’re looking for dessert, steak, and cocktails, skip the traditional bakeries, steakhouses, and bars. Head to Del Frisco’s Grille!

This blog received a complimentary meal in exchange for an honest review. The only reason this is even on my blog is because I really loved the food. Trust me; there are restaurants that don’t make it on here because this blog isn’t about making money or getting meals comp’d. It’s about sharing good info and making my friends and family’s taste buds happy!
Thank you Del Frisco’s Grille, especially Sherwin and our server, for such a wonderful night!
